It’s been an exhilarating 2016! I’ve been leading Mindset Reset workouts at a very prestigious financial institution for the second time, Seamless/Grubhub, the Grace Institute, and a handful of others around NYC. This summer, I’m booked to appear on morning TV in New Zealand (!), and last but not least…we’ve launched the latest Moticise speaking series – Holistic Nutrition for Maximum Potential, which looks at how your diet affects your mind, body, life, and everything else. Food, fitness, fun – all my favorite things! It’s so important to celebrate the highs in life. Celebrate all your successes, big and small – and your efforts! Get it into your brain and body. Your brain LOVES rewards. They’re addictive – they make you want to do it again. So when you celebrate, you’re teaching your brain to want to do it again.

When I say “get it into your body,” I mean it. I’ll do things like fist pump, jump up and down, hands-in-the-air victory stance – yes, even in public. I had a friend who got a call while he was driving in LA, saying he got the gig he really wanted – and he actually pulled over, got out of the car, and took a bow. On the side of the highway.

When I laughed at him for doing that, he smiled, but told me celebrating is serious business. “It’s the most important part of the process of wiring success into your mind and body,” he said, ‘But the one people skip over the most, too. It’s like they think they don’t deserve it. They jump right into worrying about the next thing.

Let’s do it right now. 

Think of something from today or the last couple days that you want to celebrate. What’s something you did well, something you’re proud of, that you want to do again?  Is it a big accomplishment, like getting a new job? Or is it smaller, but just as important, like going to an audition that scared you, or having a difficult conversation with a loved one?

Got it?

Good – now, take a bow. 

Don’t worry about making it perfect – just take a big, victorious bow, and feel that celebration!  

Feel that victory!  

And then go out and shine.
